From the beginning, there was a stirring inside of me towards prayer. My children were already teenagers when I came to know the Lord so there was plenty to pray about. Over the years, I have had some really good teachings, and some not so good but none scared me off from learning to pray. Being married to a shift-worker, I didn’t get to go to a lot of extra meetings, conferences and retreats in the early years. The Holy Spirit spoke to me early on saying “I will teach you in the Secret Place all that you need to know”….and teach He did. What I learned walking with Him, asking questions, listening for answers however they came we eventually confirmed through good sound teachings. Ultimately, When we learn the heart of God for mankind, we come into agreement with Him and from that place our prayer is released. Releasing God’s heart on the earth is really what prayer is. Prayer is not a list, nor what we think something should look like or how it should happen. From the beginning I knew I wanted my heart to line up with God’s heart and it has been a growth process to get there. He is limitless so there is always more. One of the most beneficial things that has contributed to my prayer life was a yearly conference at a local church which I am now a part of. Through these conferences my heart and my prayer began to take shape and align with Yahweh. Learning to pray the Word of God was probably one of the most refreshing methods I have ever learned and still use it today as a primary focus in all prayer. My heart and my hope is to help others realize that it is not a chore to pray, it is a privilege to be allowed into the heart of Jesus to pray with Him. To learn the joy that comes from abiding prayer and that as we pray for others, we ourselves are strengthened, encouraged and nourished. I am 63 years old, living in South Louisiana. I have been married 45 years. My children range from 33-41 years old and my grandchildren from 3 years to 16 years old. The loss of a 7 month granddaughter to SIDS 6 years ago was a changing experience in learning to abide in the heart of God and abide in prayer WITH Him.
